It has finally happened. Electronic books have started to take over. This moment was bound to happen, electronic book sales have been creeping into paper territory for the last few years and it was only a matter of time.
The Association of American Publishers opened their own books and published a report which compiled sales data from US publishing houses. Total ebook sales across all categories in February were $90.3 million dollars. This makes electronic books the largest single format in the United States for the first time in history, easily overtaking paperbacks at only $81.2 million dollars.
